Rivershadow's eyes widened and he jumped back, fur bristling with obvious embarassment. "I didn't mean to! I;m sorry sorry!" But he calmed down after a moment, his surprise fading, and he added with a grin, "Okay, maybe I did mean to, then. I like YOU, Sparrowwing..."

Rivershadow horrified. "How could you think that? Sparrowwing, I've wanted to tell you so long, but I was afraid you wouldn't feel the same, that you would reject me... my sweet Sparrowwing... I love you," he whispered, eyes glowing with emotion. There, he had finally said it, spilled the beans. It was all out there now... he waited nervously for her answer...

Rivershadow's heart stopped for a split second, then raced double-time. "Well, that's certainly a relief," he chuckled nervously. He felt faint. But his next move seemed natural, almost casual. It was easy, it felt right... he leaned forward and touched his nose to hers, his hazel gaze meeting her eyes. He felt like he was melting yet floating at the same time. He had been waiting for this moment his whole life.

(LOL, every time I read this I have to hug my self, because it's so sweet, and if there ever was a hallmark, or Kodak moment this is it.)
