"But those WindClan kits snuck out and came onto our territory," mewed Iriswhisker. "Then again, WindClan is just unable to watch their own kits, or don't care. Queens usually watch their kits anyway, and we have a night patrol each night. I will watch tonight, if you'd like, Brightstar."

Riverpaw flattened his ears, clearly embarrassed but he felt important.
Iriswhisker glanced at the tom, looking unsure. "I just sit in camp, Brightstar, and make sure all is well. If you really want him to, I won't say no, but he can't go training early the next morning. He's got to sleep sometime!"

"Alright, then," Iriswhisker purred, looking at the young tom. Riverpaw smiled and rose to his paws, and padded over to sit beside his adopted mother. "I can't wait for tonight!"
"You say that now," she teased, "But I'm afraid you'll be a bit dissappointed by the lack of excitement."
"I'm just happy I"ll be able to hang with you," the apprentice explained. Iriswhisker didn't reply, but felt a rush of warmth spread through her. He really did love her. She hesitated, then reached over and licked his ear. "You doing just fine. Much better than I expected from the runaway kit I was stuck with all those gatherings ago!"

BrightStar smiled. This was going better than she could have even hoped. The only part that uneasyed her was the fact that is was getting to be TO good, and everything good must end. "Riverpaw, since you will be doing this tonight, why not go have some fun with your fellow app. I know it will make you tired, but it's important to build a relationship with each, and everyone of them." SparrowPaw couldn't help but smile to RiverPaw. She adored him with all her heart.

Riverpaw dipped his head. "Sure, Brightstar. After all, good relationships with our Clanmates builds trust, and that builts loyalty, right? We must be strong within." He glanced in Sparrowpaw's direction, a shy smile playing on his lips. He wondered if she was doing anything...

BrightStar smiled, at the to apprentices. It made her remember of her young and in love days. "All right dismissed." she said going back in to her den. SparrowPaw sprinted up next to RiverPaw, smiling at him. "Do you wanna build up trust, and loyalty, with ME?" she asked hopefully.

"I'd like that very much. However, I thought we already had that?" purred Riverpaw. But his laughter faded as he added, "I'd trust you with my life." (as well as his heart, awww! but not gonna say it.) He was glad Brightstar had left them alone, even if she was his mentor and leader.

Riverpaw flushed with pleasure and he beamed at her. He opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something else, but closed it. He wasn't ready to say it.... yet.
