Gingerstep smiled when she saw her three kits suckling. She waited until Lakefrost came in so they could name them together.

Lakefrost burst into the nursery as soon as Owlpetal gave him the all clear. He had been pacing all morning (or night, er whatever lol) since Gingerstep went into labor. He felt bad for the pain he caused her but looked forward to the new bundles of life she was bringing into life.
He scented the air, picking up three new scents. His chest swelled with pride. He was a father! He softly padded over to his mate, and crouched beside the kits curled into her belly. His eyes shone with love. "They're so beautiful..." he murmered, then switched his gaze to her. "As are you, Gingerstep. You're the most beautiful she-cat in the world to me. Have you thought of any names yet?"

"No, YOU are the best mate ever. And the best mother. Together, we'll be the best parents to these kits." He studied his offspring, trying to think of the perfect names. "Hmm... what about for the bright ginger tom, Cardinalkit? That's different."

It was barely after dawn when Cardinalkit's ears pricked, and the next instant he was on his paws, green eyes darting around the dim nursery. Lazy dormouses! Still asleep? He was an early riser, and wide awake the instant his eyes opened. He pounced on his brother, then nipped his sister's tail, trying to wake them up, too. "Foggykit! Berrykit! Come on, let's play!"
"You up already?" mumbled Lakefrost, curled beside Gingerstep. He had been sleeping in the nursery for the past several days, but would soon return to the warriors' den, rather unhappily.
"You still asleep?" Cardinalkit retorted cheekily.

Gingerstep shook her nose "no" because was two tired to shake her head. Foggykit snuggled close to his mother not bothering to wake up,but Berrykit poked her ears in the air and jumped up."Good morning, Cardinalkit,"she purred.

""G'morn, Berrykit, wanna help me wake up Foggykit?" Cardinalkit mewed innocently. His sister was wayyyy funner than lazy old Foggykit.
Lakefrost sighed, slowly rousing himself for the long, but always interesting, day ahead. "I don't think we're going to get any more sleep, Gingerstep. This is as good as it's going to get," he mewed, a hint of amusement in his voice.
