"No, and I can't smell any either," complained Leafpad, following the deputy. Hollowecho trailed a bit behind, and suddenly stopped. "Should we go down to the shore and catch some fish?" he suggested. Fishing in the ocean was his specialty.

CrabClaw nodded. "Since you are such a good fish would you mind taking over when we reach the water?" he asked sweetly.

Hollowecho looked startled, but he nodded. What an honor! He only hoped he didn't let them down. "Sure, Crabclaw, if that's what you want. But TideClan cats are learning the ways of the sea quite well, I must say. It's difficult, but in the end, rewarding."

CrabClam smiled. "Lead the way." he said looking in the direction of the ocean.

The pale gray tom slipped past Crabclaw and took the lead. He kept glancing over his shoulder, making sure they were following him. He knew they knew the way, but it felt so wierd to lead a bunch of cats, wierder than just hunting with a bunch of cats. He stopped at the edge of the cliff, where the sea spread before them. The sky was cloudy-white today, and it was very windy. The cold, salty air tugged fiercely at his fur, as if trying to rip it off. He slowly began the descend down the rocky, pebbly path, past the Mooncave, and onto flat ground - the seashore.

CrabClaw smiled to himself, and padded right behind Hollowecho.

"Well, here we are. What we usually do, er... I mean, Lightningstrike and I, well, we work together. He stands in the water about a tree-length from me, waiting. I chase the fish towards him, and he catches as many as he can. Then we switch, and he herds them to me. You know, team-work. But we don't have to do it that way," he added quickly.

Crab claw nodded, and gave a smile. "YOU are in charge right now. so YOU say or rather TELL us what to do."

Hollowecho laughed nervously. "Um, okay. Well, that's what we'll do. Split into pairs. Do we have an even number on patrol?"
