Iriswhisker and Wolftooth hated each other upon sight. When one was in the clearing, the other either slunk to the warriors' den or left camp and went hunting. The black she-cat with violet eyes, however, had taken it upon herself to keep an eye on Riverkit. The half-Clan tom, so excited and cheerful had first, had become really quiet and shy. Most cats didn't like him much. In fact, he was even less liked that the new ShadowClan cats. Iriswhisker bristled at that, after all, it wasn't his fault who his parents where. The young tom showed promise. He was curious and determined, soon learning the names of all the cats in the clan and the set up of camp.
It was a regular day in camp. Fallen leaves lay in the clearing, but the fresh-kill pile was plenty stocked. Riverkit pranced around, practicing his pounce on the falling, colorful leaves.

Greengaze gave the young tom a disapproving glance. Her black pelt shone in the sunlight. Her brother, Yellowstripe, wasn't far off, rhythmically licking a forepaw. Indigoblaze was sunning himself near the freshkill pile, soaking up the weak sunrays with his dark fur.

Wolftooth shouldered his way out of the warriors' den, grumbling under his breath. He was a large tom with broad shoulders, and the entrance was a tight fit. His fur was ruffled once he emerged into the clearing, but he almost considered going back in. Everyone seemed to be outside today, including that pesky tom-kit. He had hated Swiftwater and his father, Duskfall had betrayed him. (Duskfall and Wolftooth used to be close friends...) He let out an annoyed hiss before stalking over to the fresh-kill pile for something to eat. Riverkit followed him with his hazel gaze, but didn't speak.

Yellowstripe looked at Wolftooth analytically before switching to the other paw. It was on lazy days like this when he missed his Blackgloss the most; days when he had nothing to do to occupy his thoughts. He suddenly stood up and shook his fur out, dust falling from his pelt. He stalked out of camp, taking refuge in the forests as he began to run, run, run towards what used to be ShadowClan. Indigoblaze shrank back a bit, as if he'd been challenged, and cast his gaze downward. He could tell when his brother wanted to be alone. Greengaze just snorted and rolled her eyes. Yellowstripe was so stupid; didn't he know that falling in love hurt? Especially with a cat from another Clan, which was against the warrior code. Fate always took its revenge on cats that did that...look at Stonestar and Brightstar! Love was a farce, as far as the black she-cat was concerned.

(that's depressing)
Wolftooth snorted, but said nothing. He found a squirrel on the pile and took it. There had been enough of those back home. Of course, they could hunt there anytime, but it was quite a distance from this small, stuffy camp. Lightningstar had ordered the rebuilding of it shortly after ShadowClan joined. Dens were made bigger to make room for everyone, but still... he didn't like the stone walls closing him in all the time. He decided to go hunting later, by himself of course. Unless a patrol was led out. He didn't mind that so much, ecspecially when there were other ShadowClan cats on the patrol. But hunting patrols weren't for socializing, they were for finding food to feed the Clan, so talking wasn't required. he was content to ignore everyone, to ignore the world.
"So, Riverkit," meowed Iriswhisker, breaking the silence. "You're about four moons, now, right? Soon you will be apprenticed. I wonder who your mentor will be." The kit's eyes widened. "I hope it's not Wolftooth! He doesn't like me! Do you think he'd kill me?" Iriswhisker lashed her tail. "He wouldn't dare lay a claw on you!" she growled, then relaxed. "___star wouldn't do that. I would love to be you're mentor but I'm too new a warrior." She glanced across the clearing at Indigoblaze and Greengaze. Hmm... the black tom was too hesitant and skittish. Never stood up for himself. Greengaze was... too judgemental. As for Yellowstripe... there was something about him that made her pity him. He was anguished for some reason. if he ever got over moping, he would be a great warrior. She sighed wearily, knowing she was judging them too harshly. SHE was the judgmental one it seemed. She was just so doubtful of this ShadowClan/ThunderClan thing. It couldn't possibly work. She hated the sneaky, darkhearted warriors with a passion. One of them had killed her mother, Lavenderfur, in cold blood. She wasn't sure who, but for all she knew it was Wolftooth himself! After everything that happened, she was no longer sure of anything. The warrior code itself was crumbling. What was right and wrong anymore if it had no answers for them? StarClanwas silent, too. Why?!

Brightstar padded up to riverkit and, Iriswhisker. "Iriswhisker a word with you please." She said with a loud meow. She smiled down to riverkit hoping to give a hint on what she was going to be discussing with Iriswhisker.

Indigoblaze watched curiously. He knew Brightstar didn't trust him; nor did Iriswhisker, for that matter. Greengaze was his kin, and he knew that deep down she loved him, but she had chosen to forsake all of her family when she became ThunderClan, including him. Yellowstripe secretly loved his sister, but he wouldn't show it; the two had been close as kits and when Blackgloss had come between them, it had shattered. Neither of the two warriors would break the silence, so he wouldn't.

Brightstorm looked onward to Indigoblaze. She let out a low growl.

Indigoblaze shrank further into himself, ducking his head down and staring at his paws. He didn't want Brightstar angry at him. Greengaze snorted and rolled her eyes. Her brother could be so weak sometimes. He could be a great warrior, but he needed to stand up for himself.

Brightstorm decided to start a hunting patrol. "I am starting the evening hunting patrol." She announced. "Any cat is welcome to come." She was looking straight to indigoblaze as if to say "I do trust you." She gave a smile to reassure him.

Indigoblaze blinked once, slightly confused by Brightstar's mood swing. He stood and raised his head. "I'll go, if that's okay," he volunteered.

Brightstorm smiled. "Why wouldn't it be?" Altho she would never admit it she slightly liked Indigoblaze. She sat down waiting for more volunteers,

Indigoblaze looked down at the ground as if his leader had cuffed him in the ears.

Brightstar lashed her tale to the ground. "I suppose that indigoblaze and my self will be the only ones." She said simple. She padded away into the forest. For a moment all was well until there was a sudden break in to the silent forest. There was a loud screech and hiss. Brightstar was under and attack. It was an owl swooping down at her, and at some point it almost lifted her up. She wasn't to far away from camp so all of her clan could hear this.

(Argh! sorry hold on.)
Iriswhisker looked puzzled. "Um, sure, Brightstar, do you want to talk now?" She glanced at Riverkit, who shrugged, just as confused. Wolftooth looked up. "I guess I'll go with you, too," he grumbled, as if unwilling. But it was better than sitting around doing thanks.
