Brightstar whipped around. "Hush RiverPaw." she scolded with a hiss. (lol) Sparrowpaw smiled, and blushed, than nodded to him, to say thank you. Brightstar slightly glared at them. "Keep quiet, or I'll separate you two."

Riverpaw ducked his head but shot Sparrowpaw a sly glance. Brightstar couldn't do that if she tried...

BrightStar glared at them, but turned around, and with a swift pounce she brought back up a sparrow that had been perched on the ground. SparrowPaw shivered. "Do you think that means anything?" she asked in a whisper to RiverePaw. "SparrowPaw!" BrightStar hissed. SparrowPaw looked at her leader, fear paralyzing her. "Climb this tree, there might be a nest." BrightStar said while baring her teeth. "Yes, BrightStar." SparrowPaw said dipping her head to her leader, than climbing the tree, and fell to the ground ; feet first, and a Sparrows nest coming back down behind her. "Got it." she moaned, shaking the dizziness from her head. BrightStar nodded to her.

Riverpaw tipped his head, confused. "Why'd we bring down the whole nest? There are no baby birds in leafbare." He hurried over to Sparrowpaw and peered at her anxiously. He had been nervous the whole time she was up in that tree, not that he doubted her... "Are you alright? Do you need to see Owlpetal? And no, I don't think it means anything. If a cat drinks from the river, I'm not afraid they'll try to drink ME next!"

Riverpaw nodded, and suddenly his ears twitched. He heard something moving around in the bushes. He shot a glance at Sparrowpaw, signaling he'd be right back, then stalked into the brambles. What luck! A squirrel had ventured out of its' snug nest. Riverpaw slid across the ground until he was in striking distance... The squirrel froze, then ran. Riverpaw gave chase, his prey didn't have a chance, he was practically on top of it. The brown tabby tom pounced, pinning it to the ground and delivered a swift bite to the back of its neck. He reappeared through the bushes, a fluffy gray squirrel dangling from his jaws.

Riverpaw waved his tail once, the only sign of his pleasure at being praised by his leader and mentor. He dipped his head respectfully before burying his catch in the soft ground underneath a tree root.

BrightStar did a final nod to RiverPaw. SparrowPaw smiled to him, carefull to not let BrightStar see her. Suddenly Bright Star's ears shot up like a bullet, and she sprang in to a sprint. She came back moments later with a rabbit that was stupid enough to even merely peek out from it's nest. SparrowPaw looked on at BrightStar. "How'd she catch that!?" she mewed in a whisper to RiverPaw.

"She's got WindClan blood in her, remember? That's probably why she's the fastest cat in the Clan," whispered Riverpaw in return, eyes wide with awe.

Riverpaw hurried after her, catching up in a couple of bounds so he ran beside her, shoulder to shoulder, pawstep for pawstep. He flashed her a grin then turned back to the forest, listening, scenting, watching for their intended prey...
