Flightstar stood at the stream, her long tail laying down behind her, just lifted and lofty. She gazed out, ears pricked and nose raised. She inhaled softly and watched her dark amber eyes wide, wondering what the Clans were doing.

Wolfsong sniffed the air. She sneezed at the weird scent driffting over from one of the dens. (bbq) She sat down next to Fligthstar and watched the twolegs shovel huge bits of mutilated meat on brown things into their mouths. (hamburgers) 'Do you think that actually tastes good?' She wonered to herself. Out of the corner of her eye she watched one of the kittypets, a tortoishell, play stalking a blue jay.

"A fish or seagull is good," mewed Hollowecho, making a face. "That looks like neither, or perhaps like some one ate it, digested it, and..."

Wolfsong made a face. "At least it looks better than those brown and white lumbs." She mewed. (doughnuts) "But they all smell gross.

"Very disgusting," agreed Flightstar, purring. "I just still miss the Clan from time to time. I hope they're doing all right."

"Well, TideClan's getting along at least. You guys had to start from scratch. At least they still had some part of themselves.." Hollowecho mewed quietly.

"And we have you and Lightningstrike. You get to teach us your territory and everything else," mewed Flightstar, purring softly. She turned, stepping on, her heart hurting.

"And no wretched border fights." Wolfsong added. "We're safer now than we were in the forest."

Hollowecho ducked his head, embarrassed and both humbled. "Thanks, Flightstar, but well, you guys are doing so well. You won't need us around much longer..."

"That's true," mewed Flightstar, flicking her tail at Wolfsong. "A mighty inconvenience those were. And Hollowecho, we'll always need you." Again, her dark eyes filled with sorrow and she focused ahead. She missed Clan life. She'd been there with Wetmoss. And her friends - all her friends.

Hollowecho nodded. He wanted to believe that, but part of him felt he would never fit into this life. He wanted to, but he needed to be realistic. If the Clan didn't want him then, he would leave. But it would be so much harder now... He had friends, he had Lightningstrike... he saw the sadness in his leader's eyes, but he didn't want to interfere or be nosy. It must be pretty lonely being a leader, too.
